The Naib Tehsildar's job is highly executive, administrative, and quasi-judicial in nature. Their main responsibilities include:
1. Revenue Administration
Land Revenue Collection: Ensuring the timely collection of land revenue, cesses, and other government dues in their jurisdiction.
Land Records Maintenance: Supervising and testing the work of subordinate staff (like Kanungos and Patwaris) to ensure accurate and timely preparation of vital land records like Jamabandis and Khasra Girdawaris (crop inspection reports).
Mutation and Partition: Attesting and writing orders for mutations (changes in land ownership records) and conducting spot partitions of land among co-sharers.
2. Executive and Magisterial Duties
Assistant Collector Grade-II: They exercise the powers of an Assistant Collector Grade II for various revenue cases.
